He turned this job down a couple of days ago based on what I heard. If he wanted to be a DC he would be at USC right now. $900k likely wasn't the offer amount. Story took too long to break, i guess.
Plain and simple, Coach O didn't want the DC job at LSU, why would he want it at MSU? I'm not worried.
Can't see going back to Mississippi as a DC when you were hc especially when going to the shittier school. Would be like cam taking a qb coaching job at usl.
Has there been any word on Coach O's status..I noticed that Mullen still has not named a Defensive Coordinator. Does anyone think there is a connection or do you think Orgeron is in the LSU fold. I think it would be a hugh loss for LSU...and with the contact period coming on the 14th next Thursday it becomes even more important for LSU to lock him in. I think maybe that date is an important factor for Mullen also. To not have a DC in place would def hurt his recruiting efforts. Opinions?
