That's the life of a coach. Expectations are NEVER met, nowhere. Just look at Les. Hell, look at Nick. Bama beat Arkansas by one point and the Bammers are upset that the wheels have come off.

I guess what I mean is that they'll expect the coach who took Mississippi friggin' State to the next level to walk on water.

I believe more in Freeze than Mullen as a head coach. Ole Miss has consistently recruited better than MSU as well. MSU could very well be living through the "Dak Prescott era", and then return to mediocrity in the SEC after he is gone. Ole Miss is based on defense, which Freeze has built into a national leader over these 3 seasons. I do not believe Ole Miss will go quietly after Bo Wallace leaves. In fact, they could stand improvement at QB and I would not be surprised to see his successor become a better overall QB leading this team. Bo Wallace will implode at some point this season, costing Ole Miss a chance at a national championship.

Agreed, I don't see MSST sustaining this success but I do see Ole Miss doing so because Freeze has recruited talent year after year.

i dont think state is a perennial contender as its almost impossible to win there. so people predicting they cant sustain this well, thanks soothsayers. next we'll find out muschamp may be on the hotseat. although I do think think the taste of winning as a top 5 team and NC contender does help change the culture and mindset of the administration/students/faculty etc in a way they couldnt get otherwise.
