the doctor who performed the surgery ran a saline solution that "iced" everett down immediately upon arrival in order to reduce swelling of the spinal cord. got his body temp down to 92 degrees in a hypothermic state, not only saving his life but enabling him to possibly walk again. looks like a breakthrough in spinal cord injuries. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/09/12/sports/football/12everett.html?ref=sports
Thats incredible. After hearing the news yesterday it didnt sound good for walking again and even possibly living. And now this....wow
Pretty sure it was just the great medical guys but yeah. Great news, this really had me sad. I know football is over but it would be great to see him walking again.
