I personally haven't enjoyed listening to all the Miles bashers over the years, I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt (breaking in new QB's, assistants, etc).

Jefferson showed that he can air it out accurately, Shepard proved that he can bust it open from the backfield.

The second half performance tonight was just sickening. To see the aggressiveness suddenly leave out of the playcalling was mind-boggling.
The man/bump coverage was working, then we switched to zone? The zone blitzes didn't look like they were working that well.

Totally different team on the field in the second half IMO. Playcalling on both sides of the ball was suspect, way too conservative. Absolutely horrible on 3rd down, ugh.

Coach Miles, you have a victory but you didn't win the game. You got manhandled in the second half by a team that was dissected. The chess match was won because the other player, who had far less pieces on the board than you, ran out of time at the end. Supposedly you have no clue about the "hot seat", but I think it just got hotter. Alumni vote with their checkbooks and real results are expected.

    My apologies for the rant.

I thought the 1st half offense looked just as bad as the 2nd half.

Shepard just happened to bust one loose on the swept and in the 2nd half he didn't. The 1st half offense sucked just as much.

He has been getting out-coached for some time now.

One might even ask why he wasn't getting the ball in the 2nd half.

I don't think you base your offense around the same sweep play with no other real plays off of that.

Florida at least has a variety of plays they use for the sweep. LSU just basically runs the same play over and over... once to the right then to the left. And as you can see, teams started figuring out Florida's crap last year and today's game just solidified my thoughts on it.

That is not a team offense and is not really going to work IMHO. Crowton is doing everyone a big disservice. The problem is LSU's offense is really not an offense, it's someone just scribbling down crap on a napkin.

There was some good things on the offensive side.
    - no looking to the sidelines crap
    - no player substitution telegraphing

The offense is a mess though.

    FIRE LES!

Les Miles and Gary Crowton are driving the LSU program into the ground. Les has no clue how to develop talent and it sickens me.

He's steeped in his Big 10 coaching style. He'll never change. He needs to go ahead and make the trek to coach at Michigan and quit destroying LSU.

    FIRE MILES AND CROWTON NOW!!!!!

Then what's your plan? Are there any coaches that currently do not have jobs that could jump in right now and right the ship?

I was at NC State game in Raleigh today. They have a great DC.... one Michael Archer. He might be available. Might even be an improvement. (Just joking...I think)

Archer was, indeed, a good assistant coach. Just not a head coach.
