Miles won't do it, but would a normal coach go for a New OC?

I really think so. Stud is unimaginative and poor at adjustments. I think Miles likes him because Miles wants to run the offense himself.

New OC, similar results, we run the offense CLM likes to run. I bet it will be better with a better QB.

I started a thread about this sometime back and got lambasted. But I asked the question because I looked at our offensive production and exept for points scored, we were mediocre at best in all other offensive stats.

A normal coach would have handled the QB situation better, the Mallory Peveto situation better and the Stud situation better.

Les will want Stud to return as OC.

If this was the best game plan we could get then we need new minds in the box. Our offense has been very predictable throughout the year but our defense and special teams made up for it. We hadn't played an opponent that could stop us until we met Bama the first time and we escaped.

I don't think the offensive coordinator is necessarily the problem. You can only call plays as good as your QB and O-Line. I think he is the same O-Line coordinator that dominated pretty much every game this season minus 2 games vs Alabama. He will look like a genius the next few years with our QB's, you don't change things based on that one game of the season.

I think the reason it was brought up was because Studrawa was only filling in for Kragthorpe. I still think we need to bring in a real OC because throughout the year our offense was extremely vanilla. Power running. And we could do that against lesser opponents but not against Bama. When faced against Bama, he didn't coach to win. It's like they didn't look at any film at all. Down in the 4th quarter, he stuck with the same gameplan and we got the same result: 0 points.

I agree our offense is run. I have no beef with that.
But any coach worth his salt will simply stack the line and force you to throw the ball. We have seen this for 4 years. This is the first year where Talent simply overpowered everyone. Until you can prove you can do that, you are doomed.
Bama had the players to hang with us. Saban said "Force their QB to throw the ball" knowing good and well Jefferson actually leading a passing attack is not even possible in the realm of our earth and heavens.
So as soon as they shut the run down as expected JJ crapped the bed. Our coaches didnt have a plan B and the rest is history.
We go down as the only team to get shut out in a National Championship game

I think with a more traditional passing attack like we saw last night from Bama our offense will be fine. We are never going to put up 500 yards of offense. Nor our style of play.
But until we get a legit passing threat. Teams who have the players (Like Bama, etc) will simply watch film and say - Hmm stack the line, their QB is borderline incoherent with a football. Make him throw.
    Lots of 3 and outs.

I think we see better days ahead on offense with the departure of Jefferson and Lee.
My only concern is did we miss the golden opportunity. Can our defense maintain their level while our offense comes out of the miserable years of the last 4.

Yes we did escape it the first time but who with any football knowledge thinks you can beat a #1 defense twice with the exact same game plan, play calls, and not making any adjustments? Its not going to happend (ask Bobby Bowden he knows). I didnt see any new wrinkles from this offense or anything. This offensive staff didnt do anything productive in the last 5 weeks to prep for this game. I dont see how Les Miles doesnt atleast look at other options for OC. Does anyone know if coach stud is still coaching the o-line also??
