Yeah I see that in this article too but I still don't understand the significance of Miles lobbying the Cotton Bowl. What does that have to do with Davis? Am I just missing something?
since guilbleaux was run out of town, he's taking another veiled shot at LSU/Miles for criticizing LD for taking a covert trip while trying to claim Les did the same for the cotton bowl. once again, he's trying desperately to make a story fit his lies; instead of just reporting the news. guy needs help.
IMO, this is a silly policy. Things change during the whole process. Such as...I am a 4 star WR from Alabama and cant decide between LSU and FSU at a time when the position is wide open. I finally decide I will give LSU my verbal commitment. During the next 2 weeks, two 5-star recruits and 1 4-star recruit gives a verbal to LSU....well, hell, I want to play. Things that probably are running through these kids heads....I need PT in order to show my talent. An extra year of PT will boost my numbers. Will I get lost in the shuffle??? I know I can play as a freshman at FSU, not sure at LSU. ....now remember, I am a 18 year old kid trying to make a career decision... Today, I would hold off on my verbal till I see how things played out...but I still would wonder if giving an early verbal might solidify my position with the coaching staff. See where a kid might reconsider there commitment??? Just my 2 cents
The answer is simple to me. If you're not sure, DON'T COMMIT! Should we post a Webster's definition of the word "commit"? When you're sure, THEN COMMIT. Until then, "lean", or give a "soft-verbal".
simple, then dont commit til the last day if you're unsure. commit before, honor it. its really that simple. you want to be a tiger and not scared of the competition, sign the LOI. If you're more worried about playing time and worried you can't be atop the depth chart come spring, move on to ole myth.
EXACTLY. Guilbeau is a muck-raker, plain and simple. He writes the occasional decent article so that he can appear to be "fair and balanced", but this kind of distortion to stir up controversy is far too frequent. He's trying to stir things up and sell papers.
So why did Davis trash satan in the newspaper, then take a visit to Bama. I don't get it. Only thing I can think of is the trashing of satan was a ruse, so people would not suspect Davis would be going to Bama. I don't think Davis comes up with that on his own. Seems to me he was "coached" shall we say. What do you guys think? It just sounds fishy to me. Would Davis criticize satan in the paper without his agreement?
Slow your roll guys. I don't think that Davis is going anywhere but LSU. In the end, it just makes us look better...Big time recruit visits 'bama and the almighty saban, and still goes to LSU. Don't start hating on Davis. We'll be cheering him on in a year or so. It's all good.........
