I wonder if the assistant coaches get a raise. Also, we need to start thinking about uping the recruitment budget. We are woefully below what it needs to be.

I've been all over the board on Les Miles but turned the corner two years ago when we beat Bama in Tiger Stadium. I've been to all the big games but that was probably my favorite. His quirks were astonunding now I find them laughable in a good way. The guy is an incredible recruiter, seems to care about the kids and he loves LSU....and oh he wins, ALOT.

Do I wish he would hire a new OC? Yes. Do I wish he would be more aware during in game management? Yes. You can't have it all.

CLM is probably a top 5 coach in college football. We should be thankfu.

Absolutely. There is no such thing as perfection - Saban is too conservative and can be too harsh. Meyer couldn't handle the pressure. Les recruits well, seems to be a good man, seems to reach young men, has a consistently good to great DC, and wins games.

I'm not saying fire Miles, I was just saying if he left I'd be nervous but hopeful.

    For the moment, maybe.

But we will be right back in their grill next season, slugging it out. For now Bama is going to be our toughest obstacle and we theirs.

We have won 6 out of the last ten and split the last 4. They don't dominate us nor we them.

Also, I do not give a shit if a win is pretty or ugly, as long as it's a win.

I'm basically satisfied at this point, frustrated with the offense and defense in turns, but since we've won the NC our mantra has been next year. Bama has won 2 since then and has a good shot at a third, including an undefeated season. Don't want to be perpetual #2 and don't think we have to be. Wins are great, but dominant wins don't turn into losses if the ball bounces funny.

We have the second best coach in the country right now. We are smart to keep him. We also play in a conference that has competition like never before, so we are going to have some tough times now and then. It won't ever be as easy as it was for Mich. and tOSU when they played one great team per season. Or for USC when they usually had no other great teams in conference plus maybe one in NotreDame.

I believe Les will keep us competing for a long time in the best conference ever asembled and look forward to all of the great games.

Yeah... we shut down football. Really Rich? Come on man. I've read your posts for a long time, you're better than this. My point is if people are so high on getting rid of Miles, who do you pick up next at THIS point? If he retires, he retires, thats life. But you don't fire a coach who is mostly winning just to see if someone else won't piss you off more. I'm not saying there isn't someone out there who could be better than Miles, I'm simply saying I wouldn't want to gamble with the odds right now.

Big shocker here. I'm thrilled that we signed Miles to an extension. And a raise. It's as Tirk said yesterday. The market allows the raise.

If Arkansas was rolling out the big bucks, then it is what it is.

I really have NO problem with the raise because LSU is making money on this football program hand over fists....so I say pass it on to the people that have gotten the program there, and obviously Miles is ONE of the main reasons for that success, When programs such as LSU are this successfull everything goes up, taf, tickets, merchandise, in turn the school makes a killing, so in essense they need to put that money right back in to the program, in which they are doing, through coaches, expansions, and Facilities, yes it's alot of money, but this program can afford it.

Bama barely has the upper hand. It's been a dog fight, Les has 1 less win against Saban than Saban has against Les, and all of those games were very close save the January fuck up, but they should have never been there in the first place. All this means is Les has 7 more years to fight Alabama.
