    As long as...
    1) Les keeps getting double-digit wins each year
    2) Other big schools with big bucks get really desperate
    3) There's no other clear-cut PROVEN HBC available to replace him with

Hey... I criticize Les Miles all the time. Can't tell you how many times I've yelled at the TV like an idiot. But that doesn't mean I want a new coach. With all due respect... you can criticize him all you want, and you would do the same with any coach whose making decisions on the LSU sideline. It isn't a question of "criticism" at all. It's a question of losing Miles, then who do we end up with that would be better at this point? I say no one. Looking at whats out there, I don't think we would be any better off. And it would suck royally to learn this the hard way.

And Nick Saban is never coming back here, so what's your plan?

I'd be scared as hell if we were suddenly in the market for a head coach. I'd be nervously excited because I realize there are a lot of duds out there. Les is loyal and he keeps winning. Mack Brown arguably has a better job and isn't doing as well. I wouldn't trade him for Meyer (flake) and I don't think I'd want Saban back (too much water under the bridge). Up and comers are hit and miss. But there is still the possibility that someone could steer this program as well as Les without the hiccups, and I don't think it is as unlikely as winning the lottery. So often I feel like rather than play to the best of their ability LSU is looking back to make sure their opponent isn't passing them. It's been mostly successful, good enough. Honestly, how many games a year do we play that should be in contention? It sure isn't 10.

But I'm a guy who wasn't impressed with Fulmer or Solitch or Mack Brown or Carr; I criticized Saban when he was here. Maybe I'm just a miserable wretch.

Does Les deserve to make top 5/10 money? Yeah. Does he deserve a raise... not so sure.

If Les leaves, conduct a search. If Les falls apart and can't rebound in a reasonable time frame, conduct a search. If our offense stays nearer the bottom of the SEC, push hard for a new OC. If Les continues to wrack up wins but play second fiddle to Bama, push to understand where we are coming up short. Keep his salary in the top 10, maybe top 5. If he leaves due to salary or meddling, so be it.

So do people actually think Les coached his team to that display against Arkansas?
Some people at some point have to come to the conclusion.
Other teams have coaches who watch film and nice facilities
Other teams have equal or better Talent than we do
In our league it is VERY very rare to go undefeated. As in this year, no one went undefeated.
Yes I wish LSU blew out every opponent will never happen.

And lastly ITS ENTERTAINMENT !!!!! GEEZ don't let the whims of an 18 - 20 year old define you so much. Sheesh.... Go to the game cheer, be proud of our state and school but my god people the anger that people get over a stupid ass football game never ceases to amaze me....
Perspective... When LSU lost to Alabama millions of people could have given 2 sh*ts....
Hell my own sainted wife said "Wow that sucks. anyway about tomorrow we need to....."
Les represents our state and school very well, is he perfect no. But he is a good man, a family man who loves Baton Rouge and our state.
