First I'd like to say I absolutely despise ND. I'd root for the Taliban if they were playing ND but from a coach's perspective they have a lot going for them 1. they already have a good base of talent. Chubby actually recruited well the last few years. Look at where their classes have been rated. 2. Unparalled media exposure. Even when they stink you hear more about what is going on there in national media then anyone else(I hate that). 3. They have a LOT of very rich alumni and could actually afford to pay Miles more than he makes here. 4. Largest recruiting base of anyone, even USC. Their players come from coast to coast and North to South. They have the reputation even if unfounded with all of the Gipper crap etc and they have the Catholic thing going. 5. if instead of loving Michigan, Miles is upset that quite a few of the alumni didn't want him in 2007 as was reported then he might actually "have a want" to kick their butt every year. ND affords him that opportunity since they play every year. The other side of the coin? Why in hell would they want Miles?
I know I have been busy at work... did I miss the headline reading "Weiss out at Notre Dame". I know it is an obvious conclusion to the donut eating coach's career, but did they do the deed yet. Also, I have a feeling it would probably be a Paul Johnson to take that job. Why would Saban, Meyer or even Miles want that job.
don't forget they don't redshirt, and they don't bring in juco's either. And their players have to be pretty good students also.
Why wouldn't Saban, see my Saban to Notre Dame thread in the college sports forum. For one reason Notre Dame could pay him more money than anyone else. Number 2, he would be guaranteed a BCS bowl game or in the championship game every year with that soft schedule compared to playing in the SEC. That is provided he could build the program just as well as LSU and Bama. Think about it, it fits his ego, he doesn't have to share with anyone.
I love the stooges btw! Check out this thread for thrills! Is Nick Saban going to Notre Dame ? - CBSSports.com Message Boards
Haven't you ever heard the song "Dingle balls?" You know, "dingle balls, dingle balls, dingle all the way. Oh, how it hurts to comb them out, but they aren't allowed to stay." Where's your holiday spirit?
a new low, even for you.... leave family references regarding life and death alone. why even go there? it's not witty or funny and like most of your posts, it seemed intended to denigrate. :dis:
