Was McCoy's visit to WVU scheduled before or after his LSU commit?

Well, it appears that we showed some leniency since at the time he scheduled it we did not have an Oline coach, and at the time he took it he had not met him/it wasn't official. Also, McCoy was upfront about what was going on. He said he wanted to play defense & WVU told him they would give him that opportunity so he wanted to check out their school. He came back & firmed his commitment to the Tigers.

Actually, I would go ahead & consider it a given. As far as being a DT, we already brought in better ones. If we consider him a DE (which I think he would be), we've got a couple options & they are all about equally as talented as Davis.

I don't follow the same sites you guys do...but, I still am left asking the question.

If all this went down last weekend, when did he lie to the staff at LSU? No bone to pick, no personal involvement...I'm just trying to see where this is coming from...

Again, would a coach be calling a player to see where he was when he had recruits on campus?

It doesn't make sense...just trying to put it together. Not trying to stir the pot here guys, seriously.

One, I'm not sure if the LSU coaches called when he was on Bama's campus, but they did get word that he was from the numerous reports of sightings. And he did lie by his own admission, but you just refuse to acknowledge that. Do you think all of the LSU coaches have no free time away from the recruits during visits? D oyou not think it would be prudent of Henson to try to get in touch with Davis when he got wind of Luther being in Alabama? You know the old theory about a bird in hand Im sure.

Why in the hell do you think Miles pulled his scholarship offer, because he all of a sudden thought Davis wasn't talented enough? Do all of the reports, by both recruiting sites and main stream media(many of which have been posted or linked on these threads) not convince you at all that this kid has trouble telling the truth? Do the comments by his own high school coach lend any credence at all to these reports about Luther?

    Cases of spin...

You are spinning what I'm saying. All I've asked, is when he lied to the LSU coaches?

All of this came down over a weekend...but now, instead of lying to Mike S. and the Scout.com guy it's now lying to the staff.

I'm just trying to figure out where that is coming from?

What's the guys name...Hanson? I've seen a few C&P's this morning about the way he handled the situation...not blaming him, or the Davis family...I'm not denying he told either he was at a funeral .

I do find it ironic that I see posts here about the "hell he's going to get at home" and wonder why on earth he would try to keep it out of the public eye.

Have we forgotten these are kids here?

Its understandable to let him slide considering we didnt have a coach in place at the time.

There are 3 top DEs that I know of that are high on LSU left out there, Peters, Corley, and Sykes. Although, it doesnt appear the coaches are really after Sykes at the moment. I know he has two visits scheduled(I dont remember where), but neither is to LSU. So I assume as of now he is out of the mix. Considering Corely is getting in tight with Russell, Jackson, and Jones I think LSU has a very good chance of landing him. Hopefully all goes well with Peters as well.

You keep saying this and it is simply wrong. Davis went to Bama last weekend. It was reported in the press and LSU coaches contacted Davis upon his return (read Monday). He lied about going all day Monday and Tuesday to everybody, media and coaches alike. Apparently he admitted that he had lied Tuesday night or Wednesday and was making comments (Wednsesday) that he would be choosing between LSU and several schools on signing day.

Les is trying to wrap up the recruiting class and has very few scholarships left and did not want to be left holding one on signing day because a player lied to him. So he pulled Davis offer on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning so he could fill that slot with another 4-star player (likely Jason Peters). Coach Shows was notified on Thursday evening. Davis committed to Bama on Friday.

Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. This thing has been playing out for a week, Terry.

We have plenty of coaches, there were'nt that many recruits on campus, and a phone call only takesa few minutes. It was publicly reported that Davis was in Bama. A coach would be a fool not to check up on it.

It makes plenty of sense if you step back and look at it.

What doesn't make sense is Davis lying to the media before, during, and after the visit and then to the LSU coaches unless he was perfectly aware that the visit would put his offer in danger. Like his HS coach said, He didn't handle his recruting very well. His first choice pulled their offer and he must now attend his second choice school.

That's not the way he wants to paint it, now, but he's opened his mouth too often and the cat is out of the bag.
