I was just thinking more in terms of this recruiting class (three DTs ranked above him at #6, 9 and 16 vs. two ranked above him in Bama's class, #4 and #24 -- with #24 being more like a tie in my very biased opinion) and overall team depth. I know Bama's talented enough though I hate to admit it, but I think Davis has a better chance of playing sooner there than at LSU. I'm also trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt that playing time and his ability to make an impact sooner fed into his decision and that he's not just a total headcase with the lying and whatnot.

Anyway, you have the superior knowledge on this subject, so I"ll agree with you that he's just another good recruit. Except if it's ULL :hihi: .

Him committing to Bama wasn't under contention, his truthfulness in all matters related to his recruitment is.

There seems to be a growing rumor that he somehow lied to the LSU staff about where he was. Now, the way I remember this (based on what you guys said on this forum) is Mike S. called him and he said he was at a funeral Saturday Morning.

Then, Mike S. called him and said he was hearing reports that LD was on campus and LD admitted so.

I don't know the Scout.com reporter that wrote this...but, there is an article published that said LD was indeed at a funeral early that morning and then went to T-town. None of the people I talk to have discussed this with anyone...so I can't say one way or another as to its veracity.

LD's commitment was last night. Rodney Orr reported that LD had called him between classes and verified he commited last night...that call was this morning.

    Semantics!

That is the story we are hearing and you cannot spin it away. Davis lied to Les Miles about taking a trip to Bama. He lied to the media about the trip and about his ignorance of Miles' policy on no further official vists from commitments. He got his offer pulled for it.

All of this broke Saturday morning and afternoon. I'm not denying what you are saying, and I'm not trying to spin it.

Q: When was that supposed to have happened? Between the two calls my Mike S.?

you need to realize that Mike S. is not an LSU coach. LD can say all he wants to Mike S. Mike S. had reported that LD had lied to the LSU COACHING STAFF about the Bama trip.

You're crazy red, put on your houndstooth glasses and lets take another look.

Davis is a fine upstanding citizen who unlike every other LSU commit just doesn't understand the recruiting process. Miles didn't yank his scholly, Davis' mom had a vision of the promised land(BAMA) while they were at the funeral of a relative. I just can't figure out why he was being burried in Tuscalooser. Satan....I mean Saban is a man of high character who attracts only young men of the same moral standards....like Davis and him mom. Even though Miles begged and begged on bent knee Davis had seen the light and was headed to gumpland.

Now take off those glasses that Terry loaned you and have a good laugh. Satan is attracting recruits that fit his mold, sleazy. As good as T.O. is he always has been a team killer and Davis looks to be the same.

The fact that Davis made the trip after pubicly denying it broke on Saturday. Apparently he lied to Les about having gone sometime after that. By Tuesday we were hearing that Les was displeased with his conversation with Davis. Yesterday we heard the scholarship offer was withdrawn, probably on Wednesday.
