You must be a complete fucking idiot. If you compete against bama for the SECW, the schedules should be at least somewhat equitible. I'm not all that sure that bama could have beat Fla, It makes a difference retard, drop your miles hate and TRY and be an LSU fan.
I am a LSU fan of 29 years. Who's to say we compete with Bama for SECW every year? Even with the luck of the draw someone will end up having a easier schedule from time to time. Because of talent leaving early, and rebuilding years, etc, teams gain and lose strength in the conference. Hey guess you're one of those guys that wants to take the easy way out, and have things handed to you with little to no effort. Different strokes for different folks, but I am sure you could appreciate things more if you had to work hard to get them.
Easy now. I'm all about earning too but even I have to admit beating a team then having to play them again for all the marbles wasn't the "fair" route to have to go down. Especially since there had never been/and fans never wanted a "rematch" before.
That's the cards that were dealt. I don't look at it as "damn why should we have to play a rematch that's unfair." I look at it as Bama is the opponent this week, and we are going to win. And I will do everything I can to get this team where it needs to be in order to obtain another championship. Of course that isnt what happened. But I personally wouldn't bring up scheduling as excuse.
A few thoughts. Is it possible to have equitable schedules with two teams in the West? To do so would mean that an Eastern team would have to face the same Western teams the same season. The result? You know what it would be. We saw it with Spurrier and his statements about cross-divisional opponents shouldn't count in determining who goes to ATL. I think, no, I hope, you guys understand my stance on wanting to keep UT on the schedule is based on our history. Now, I see the assertion here games like this should be scraped. I have to wonder if you had a rivalry like the one Bama and UT have shared for decades if you'd feel the same? If you look at this from outside your fan allegiance I think you'll see how a game like Georgia and Auburn helps sell TV contracts. That rivalry, along with other attributes of the SEC, have made the conference carry the market value it does today. It's one of the reasons I can't understand those that look at history with disdain. Times change and with those changes things must change with them. A move to 16 teams is likely that final and fatal straw to the annual match-ups. It certainly won't be welcomed despite what looks to be its inevitability.
So are you saying bama didn't earn it last year? I enjoy the Fla game too, but I enjoy SEC championship games and BCS bowls more. The easy road, look, this isn't a little thing, it's like 2006, when Arkl didn't play eventuall SEC champ Fla, gets their ass beat by LSU but gets into the SECCG, because the schedule was easier Fans like you beat your chest and claim you want the tough games, then dog Miles when he doesn't go undefeated. I would be all for playing Fla every year, if bama does too
I don't care who is on the schedule, you coach to win. I don't dog Miles for not going undefeated. His time management skills, incoherent press conferences, offensive play calling blunders, 21-0 NCG vs Bama, and now trying to dodge opponents is plenty enough to dog him about.
