My worries were, no road games since Syracuse and over 20 penalties in 2 road games this year. And as you said would LSU be able to scrap the I if it didn't work. Looked like they did in the 2nd and had some success, but didn't commit to making wholesale changes.
If Harris had made a decent throw across the middle to Fournette it would have been a big gainer, Maybe even a touchdown. Sadly, that was the only play of the game that would have gotten him pass the line of scrimmage with open space in front of him The O line did not open one single hole. A bulldozer couldn't have gained any more yards than 7 did.
'Not ready to play' is a meaningless cliché in my book. We lost because Bama played better than us in every way.
Bama was ready to play because they thought they were playing a quality opponent. They were not ready to play 2 weeks ago and almost lost to Tennessee. LSU was as ready to play as they were against Eastern Michigan.
Nobody does. LSU was improving until we played a top-4 team and lost the game we all predicted we would lose last summer. No trend to imply regression here.
We can agree to disagree. IMO last night was serious regression. LSU made Bama look like they were the '11 team reincarnated.
