Someone please make me feel better and spin this into a positive situation. There is no way Jefferson is going to be that involved this week...is he?

Having Jefferson play a significant amount of snaps against a defense that is as confident about their abilities as any team going right now is a fairly out of the box notion at this point.

    I have nothing.

it's not out of the ordinary.

    Hatch and Lee went 50/50.

Lee and whoever will be the 2nd QB would go 50/50.

they don't want to bog him down too much.

(don't bash me for saying this).

(I am just telling you why they do it. :))

If that's true we're really in deep sh-t.

If RP was here would they go 50/50 or is this due to the QB's inexperience?

    Flynn/Russell was close to 50/50.

    Flynn/RP was close to 50/50.

But if RP was here, he'd get more of the work, probably.

Miles only went out of his way to say this to make Bama try to scramble to change their gameplan, thinking it was something that they were doing differently this week.

That's pretty interesting. Especially with JR and MF. I guess it makes sense to get it out there though it probably won't make a difference in Bama's game planning.

We rarely saw Flynn until 2007. I find it hard to believe they split that much time. Russell was the clear cut starter and played more than 50%, unless I'm misunderstanding you.

    believe it.

    don't believe it.

    suit yourself.

    I was there. :)

They both split first team reps the majority of the time.

No doubt Russell was the starter.

But there was also no doubt Flynn would be the starter the next year, so why not give him the looks?

Plus, Russell was coming off shoulder surgery. They didn't want to give him dead-arm.

It's not like anyone is losing reps here.

If Flynn is taking 50% of 1st reps, all it means is Russell is getting the other 50% with the 2nd team.

So in this instance with LSU, all this means is 50% of Lee's reps come with Keiland at tailback, Mitchell, Toliver at WR, etc...

Not a problem considering those are his targets inside of the game, too.

It's not like the workload is cut in half.

He still gets the same reps. Just not all with the 1's.
