It looks like they have decided to send out a press release to announce the coaching changes rather than hold a press conference. Looks like the internet rumors have so far proven to be just that.

If Les has something to say, he'll say it. I can't blame him for wanting to avoid a media circus for a press conference that was supposed to feature excitement, accomplishment, and promotion from within his "damn fine" staff.

That article said it was cancelled. The press conference was to announce the coaching changes. The article said the athletic dept will just release the changes this afternoon.

While I agree with your post, I disagree with the way LSU is handling this.

    a. it's unfair to the new coach(es) to not get their proper red-carpet walk.

    b. If someone's future is potentially clouded, then come out and clear it up. If you have nothing to hide, then why are you afraid to answer questions?

    Totally agree.

Perhaps he doesn't want to give RP and his family anymore to worry about than they already have the past week or so. But I don't see the problem with a press release to end the speculation.

It's not fair for the new coach's introduction to be overshadowed by all the reporter's questions being about something else.

    easy solution:

say in an introduction that you won't answer any questions about anything else.

Most of the time that works fine.

Or just don't let Miles take the podium.

No one would ask Mallory and co. about this stuff.
