I got to see him up close and personal when he was the coach at okie light. I knew what was coming long before any of you had the chance to. I don't hate him, I just know his routine all too well. I've seen it all before but it hurts more now because of his new zip code.
You're right bro. What was I thinking? When we went five for five on fourth down vs Florida Les Miles was taking a dump and reading Archie comics. Our three wins vs Nick Saban, Les was trying not to color outside the lines of his Alf coloring book. When we win the most SEC games of any team in the last ten years, it's because our players do the exact opposite of what the head coach says. A 1975 Bear Bryant doll would have coached LSU to a 130-0 record and ten straight national titles. Please kind sir, forgive me for appreciating the best ten year stretch in LSU football history and bathe me in the light of your football knowledge. This was a waste of time.... Why would I argue with someone who writes "could of?"
Granted not many "true Freshman" come out of the gate at full sprint, but Cameron and CLM screwed that pooch when they elevated Jenkins above Rivers. Rivers Left, and that left the team with no choice but to go with a "green" QB. So ... at this point, you have to look at the two and decide which one has the most potential. Based on the eyeball test, Harris has the stronger arm, and makes better reads. Harris can scat as well as Jenkins. If the experience is the only issue, then this is the time when you want to "alternate" QBs, until one or the other begins to pull away as the clear starter. Bama is facing the same problem. But this goes back to the biggest flaw,IMO with CLM. He doesn't know squat about QB choice ... as evidenced by him benching a 8 game starter with an 8-0 record, for a favored child who knew he was under the protections of Miles' bais. [And ... Bama clearly showed in the BCSNG, that JJ did NOT win the regular season game ... Bama pretty much beat itself ... JJ just got lucky to receive all the hype]. We are going to see the same thing here. CLM will keep Jenkins in, it would seem if for no other just to piss off the fan base who disagree with his decisions. It's just like running the ball 4 times in a row at the two ..... with a stacked box. .... CLM says screw you guys ...I'm doing it my way, even if I lose. I'm not saying start Harris, but put him in early. Alternate series. If he shines, keep him in for another series. IF Jenkins shines, keep him in for another series. But .. dang, if a QB goes three and out, switch them out.
You can't have a quarterback expecting to be pulled after one bad series. That is the classic trap of trying to have a two-quarterback system. Neither of them develop and confidence. But I think Harris has earned some more playing time and he will get it. Les has said all along that he wanted one quarterback to pull away from the other. Got to play them both for that to happen.
Can't teach an old dog new tricks. Same old routine, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory type stuff.
