Looks like Miles' genuine emotions at the PC opened the eyes of a lot of the fans, even his supporters. Though unintended, I believe this is beginning to galvanise the fan base support for him.
TC, I couldn't possibly agree more strongly. As I watched that press conference I was moved by the strength of Coach Miles' emotion. He's obviously connected strongly with his team and I believe he is where he wants to be. ldskule:
I really would love to believe Miles' words... I want to, but I just don't know if I can...Saban and women have made it hard for me to trust Les Miles.
I'm right there with you. I would like Miles to stay but the pain would last a very short time if we could get Spurrier to our sideline.
By insisting that he will play LSU ball, and shutting out any contacts from Michigan, the only time I can see him opening up communications would be after the Jan bowl games. I do think he was not happy with the way he dealt with his Oklahoma State team while preparing for the bowl game and negotiating with LSU, with the end result of the Okla St. loss. Quote: "That was an unfair position, period," Miles said. "It was unfair to either school. It was unfair to the team. It was unfair to me.". That tells me he is determined not to make the same mistake again. In doing so,he is almost surely shutting himself out of the gig from Michigan, and I think he knows it. Michigan will not wait that long. So, my guess is that Miles stays!
Who's to say that "the unfairness" wouldn't merit Miles leaving early and allowing Crowton to be interim coach. I know he wants this NC as much as all of us, but when your dream comes calling, you don't tell it you'll call back when you have time.
Which dream is bigger? :crystal: or UM? And does he think it's not likely he'll see a :crystal: at UM? I just don't know how you turn your back on a potential :crystal: . To put it mildly, he has a tough decision...and I don't know how he'll do it...but for some reason, I think he'll put it aside for now..."Let it rest", if you will.
How could I possibly keep up in this thread when I can't keep up with my kids at home? Honestly my house is like a circus if school isn't in session. OK, so I looked for the link in Clair's first post. Thats happens sometimes when emotion is involved. You know, I'm ashamed to say that I have an autographed picture of CLM's which I've tried to get around to putting it on my wall but haven't gotten around to do it yet. Its time to hang it up because I believe he probably isn't going anywhere. I had to watch the video link twice. I also want to thank all Tigah fans in this thread for helping me out because sometimes we all need a little help:redface: !
Actually from my vantage point it appears he faked the tears and went with a sneeze instead. The man sure is gutsy!
