Actually, it was a mix of Saban recruits and Miles recruits that won the 2007 National Championship. And Saban would get down on his knees and kiss Dinardo's feet to thank Dinardo for the sick amount of talent that Dinardo left him.

Also, note that Miles recruits better talent than Saban did, at least according to the Rivals.com ratings (both Saban and then Miles recruited the 2005 class)

Rivals.com Average Star Rankings Per Class

    Miles
    2009 3.79
    2008 3.58
    2007 3.88
    2006 3.64
    2005 3.69 (shared with Saban)

    Saban
    2005 3.69 (shared with Miles)
    2004 3.54
    2003 3.54
    2002 3.23
    2001 N/A

Ya got me dere podnuh !! Blanket statement withdrawn :). I was thinking in general about all div 1 teams.

Good point about all recruits qualifying this year. Miles is attracting decent academic recruits. Ole Miss however...we should check on that. I wonder about a lot of those 38 signees.

And John, at first I thought you had researched average GPA's...That would have really blown me out the water!!

Easily. One of my best friends and I were recruiting fanatics in the late 90's, esp. when we had those two weird losing seasons under Dinardo. I listened to 2 hours of this radio show that followed LSU recruiting every single day. And Dinardo was outstanding as a recruiter. My friend and I even went to New Orleans and saw Bradie James and Toefield play in the State Championship. Dinardo left Saban with a sick amount of talent, and quiet frankly, I wasn't impressed with how Saban squandered it (although I thought he was a good hire when we first got him and I was pleased).

    You're the man for this...

Could we see a list of Dinardo era recruits that went on to the NFL? I bet it's damn impressive.
    -
Dinardo left Nick with tons of talent...no question. Poor Gerry...couldn't let go of Lou T.
    -
By the way, to my (vast) knowledge...Lou Saban is not related to Nick Saban. Maybe distant cousins...but someone in this thread implied it they are father/son?

Not sure if you noticed but that was not some random remark. That was a link to a thread on the recruiting board.
