CNS all the way. He recruited the players on the first BCS championship and the last. Still waiting to see CLM win one with his own recruits...
Circumstances were entirely different though. Both had a down year after their NC but that's about it as far as similarities run.
You play to win the game: Saban's record - 8-4, 10-3, 8-5, 13-1, 9-3. Miles' record - 11-2, 11-2, 12-2, 8-5. These records should speak for themselves but apparently they don't to you.
Wrong. That is the case at a lot of programs...but don't make a blanket statement. - How many recruits from this year's class didn't qualify? Oh yeah...zero. In fact, many were early enrollees. And of the ones we have committed for next season? Check their GPAs. - That's something that is catching my attention about Coach Miles. He is not taking chances with guys who can't cut it in the classroom. It cost us on Lacy, Sentimore, and DBrown to name a few recently. (They all qualified...but it was most definitely in question late) But IMHO, it's worth it to go after guys that...in fact...WOULD be near college...with or without elite athleticism.
Are you asserting that the talent levels during both coaches first 3 years are even comparable? Dinardo left Saban with some very good players -- but Miles had a full cupboard (still does)
In the overall scheme of things, I will pick Miles over Saban anytime. I think Miles offers his players a more complete package...not just on the field. Despite Saban being a good defensive coach, organiser and talent spotter, he is a person of no personality (I am quoting this from one of his ex key players who was on the championship team), and ? integrity. If I were a coach, I would never want to work under him.:milesmic:
