Does anyone else notice that Miles seems more subdued on the sidelines than usual? He is usually a pretty fiery guy to refs, to players, coaches, etc. This year, he looks placid...like he doesn't have the same fire. He will occasionally tap Lee on the shoulderpads after an interception. Other than that, just looks dejected (or something). Qualification: I am not a Miles basher by any stretch. I think the guy has been great for LSU and has proven himself. Just so everyone knows, I am not calling for his head. I still wonder about his demeanor this year. I guess I could be noticing this more because of the situation at the moment.
He's probably having the reality of making the wrong call on the DC hire sinking in. I'm glad you're not "calling for his head". It's not that hard to remember that NC is it?
I don't think it is a look of disconnected, but rather a look of deep concern. A look of in depth thought, trying to place a finger on what needs to be done first. Miles has it figured out, but there is no answer that can fix it over nite. A place he has been before in his coaching career. He will get us through this season, make at successful as he can, and then make all the necessary changes in the off season. There is still a lot of season left for him to salvage. He is Coach Les Miles, I have faith he and our Tigers will be more than the team that won a NC in 2003 was in 2004. If you really look at the teams that have won an NC over the last 10 yrs, they all have a drop off the following year. Of course there a few exceptions.
he should've been fired up with the refs this weekend, concerning the missed facemasks and the tipped passes. He should've been chewing some @ss.
Well, last year, every game was a nail biter. We had the 4 4th down conversions against Florida, the last second TD against Auburn, etc. All the decisions went our way, and he looked like a genius. This year, things aren't falling his way and (I HOPE) he's realizing we can't always play from behind to win a game after letting a team jump on us so early. This isn't last year's team. The last couple of years, we've had a better offense (as far as execution/experience), and most certainly a better defense. There isn't much to be fired up about when your offense is throwing pick sixes and your D is giving up big plays. He might be thinking of who is available in the pool of DC's while observing the poor play of the D or if Jefferson really needs that medical redshirt. :hihi:
