I just don't understand why Harris' accuracy has gotten so bad. These last few games have been so awful and I had such high hopes for him.

I really believe that the attempt at bringing along Harris slowly (as with every other QB Miles has had a hand in coaching) hurt him in the long run. Harris did not get enough reps doing the routine during the first 7 games (I understand, Fournette was on fire) but the lack of good, quality reps, particularly with the routine passes, hurt him on the back end of the season when we were counting on him to do the routine well and increase his accuracy (like swing passes to the RB's, or screens to the RB's or accurate slant/timing patterns)

Gotta get these guys moving and in tempo. Not stopping and looking to the sidelines unable to establish any timing or rhythm needed with a mobile non pocket passer. Throwing deep does nothing for this.

Also, how in the hell do you read a defense while starring at the sideline? Playing QB for Miles is like playing with an anchor around the QBs neck.

It's one of 2 things, maybe both.

    1. Les has zero faith in Harris' ability, because Harris doesn't have the ability. (To read a defense)
    2. Les is just a control Nazi.

It was the same way with JJ. Recruit one with a brain, teach him the position and let him play. If he's too stupid to play QB you shouldn't have recruited him and you better get another one quick. If its a case of control Nazi, it ain't working, try something else.

Harris needs LOTS of throws that come from rolling pocket to TE's and RB's, the long ball does not seem to be his "friend".

I often wonder if a lot of our QB development problems stem from a post-2008 culture where it's hammered into their heads not to make mistakes and turn the ball over, and leads to a lack of confidence in the players by both the coaches and the QBs themselves. With the notable exception of Mettenberger, it is crystal clear that after the year of the pick-6, Les adopted a strategy where the QB is a potential liability to be hidden at all costs, rather than an asset to the offense.

Here is a novel idea. Quit recruiting kids you have zero faith in to throw the damn football
