Ed Orgeron has already proven that all the talent in the world won't get you **** in the SEC if you can't coach...

    My mistake.

One of the points I made was that Saban had a knack for selecting or finding great players. How many of the players in Miles' first two recruiting classes hold a candle to Spears, Landry, Clayton, Hill, Webster, etc? The point is that Miles hasn't developed his own recruiting classes very well at all. He's developed Saban's, but his own have been mediocre, except for one or two.

For one, the head coach stabbed the team in the heart prior to playing that game, and I believe that we would have won that game had he never left for Miami. Besides, there was defensive holding that wasn't called (like the one against Florida last week) that led to that TD.

I wasn't calling for his job. While that year was a frustrating one, it never seemed like we were returning to the Dinardo era. Coaches are always compared to the ones that come before them, and because Saban came after two bums, Hallman and Dinardo, and got a lot of respect and appreciation from LSU fans. Miles came after someone who resurrected the LSU program, Saban, and will always be compared to him, like it or not.

Sounds like what they said about Larry Coker.

Guys like you said this same exact thing last year... we waited until the end, and look how that happened.

That being said, I hope Miles does turn it around. I just don't know if he can.

Orgeron never had all the talent in the world, just more than Ole Miss had been used to.

You're honestly attempting to quantify a figure of speech?

Coach Shannon has accomplished what at Miami? We finished 8-5 with a bowl victory with 3 inexperienced quarterbacks. What is your point. Whatever happens you are not gifted enough to guarentee what the outcome of this season will be either. So wait to see what happens. My problem with many posters here( you can include yourself if you want to) is that regardless what happens they are waiting for the sky to fall in. And are disappointed if it doesn't. Because they are so self absorbed and have to be able to say at the end of the day "I saw that coming, I was right, ya'll all look at me, I was right about that". I never see these same posters come here and say" hey guys I was wrong about those dire predictions". You can't find those posters because they are upset that they were wrong in their assumption that the sky was falling. Never see these posters come out and say "hey we finished the season 10-2 not 7-5 like I said we would after 6 games into the season". Your more likely to see Santa and the Tooth Fairy swaping spit on your couch before these nay sayers will ever man up and admit that their doom and gloom was misguided and yes they were wrong. If you are so sure that all is lost, why even support the team?
Obviously no coach or football team composed of 18-22 year old kids will ever meet your expectations. Like I've said in another post. Unless we go undefeated and win every game in a rout you will never be happy.

As for as the talent you listed. Like I said Early Doucet was coached by Miles' staff for three of his four years. Matt Flynn was coached 4 of his 5 years. Glenn Dorsey 4 of his 5 years. Jacob Hester 3 of his 4 yrs( Jacob Hester would have been relegated to FB only under JF and Saban). Tyson Jackson 4 years under Miles. Just to name a few.

Why no one ever says that NS was winning with Dinardo's talent?

He was, and that is one reason why LSU fans appreciate what he did. He took a program in the dumps and only made it better.

Miles was handed a powerhouse and has done a good job of keeping it that way. Now that this is his team completely, and they are slipping a bit, we will see what he does to correct it. Other than last season, we haven't seen what he can do in this situation. I think the end of this season will show us where we are headed from here on out under Les Miles. This year is big for him.

Yeah I can't wait to go back to the halcyon days of constant rumors of secret meetings with other college/pro teams, constant denials, and eventual movement to greener pastures....year after year after year,
