Btw I will play devils advocate here! This is a perfect setup!:insane: Three of those wins were against powerhouse programs like Vandy, ULL and Miss St. The easy part of the schedule, show me that you can win three more games against some other teams like Auburn, Alabama and Arkansas. I picked these three teams because they all start with the letter A!

I agree with lsu-i-like on many points, but whether we like it or not, Miles' W's and the NC should give him another year, no matter how aggravating things get. He is deserving of it, given his success. However... I think if we look back on Miles' career so far, among the good, we see a lot of sloppiness. Look at '07, for example. The team was full of experience and we could afford to look sloppy and get away with it. If it weren't for that ridiculous "we didn't lose in regulartion" argument catching fire and WV blowing it against Pitt, there would be no NC. I think Miles may have spent all of his luck that season. Now, and over the last two years, that sloppiness it taking it's toll. We may be at 5-1, but what is the combined records of the teams we've beaten? Heck, I didn't see the game, but from what I'm hearing, Florida should have lost to Arky. I think we can also look at Miles' recruiting classes to see how he has selected/developed talent. So far, not exactly good. '05 - 13 Commits - Notables: Beckwith, Black, Hawkins, Holiday, Hitt, Jean-Francois, Lafell, Perrilloux There are others, but these are some who have gotten considerable attention. Hitt and Black are sucking it up this year, Holiday is fast and underused, Perrilloux was an idiot, Jean-Francois wasn't good last year, Beckwith started out good but declined after injury, Hawkins and Lafell have been good. So far, no super stars. '06 - 26 Commits - Notables: Woods, Levingston, Dickson, Cutrera, Eugene, McCray, Murphy, the Mitchell's, Scott, K. Sheppard, Riley, K. Williams Scott and Dickson have been solid. Sheppard and Riley were horrible last year, but have looked decent this year. Woods, Levingston, Cutrera, McCray, Eugene and Murphy have all either been mediocre or non factors. Keiland gets hardly any playing time this year, and he hasn't really lived up to his potential. Woods may be the biggest recruit to come in and do absolutely nothing. No real super stars, save maybe Scott. '07 - 26 Commits - Notables: Dworaczyk, Blackwell, Barksdale, Benton, Byrd, Hebert, Jones, Lee, Nevis, Toliver The o-linemen in that list are sucking this year. Byrd is in the pros. Jones and Nevis have been somewhat productive. Lee is, well... Lee. Toliver was good against UDub, but has been inconsistent. Benton was with Auburn the last time I checked. (LSU Commit List for 2010) A lot of these guys are being developed, too. I didn't include '08 or '09 because they are still pretty young. I hate to bring him up, but if you look at Saban's signings, many turned out to be great LSU football players. Marcus Spears, Michael Clayton, Bradie James, Trev Faulk, Chad Lavalais, Corey Webster, LaRon Landry, Travis Daniels, Marquis Hill, Claude Wroten, Kyle Williams, Glenn Dorsey, Craig Steltz, Jacob Hester, Doucet, Helms, Che. Jackson, Chr. Jackson, T. Jackson, H. Johnson, Q. Johnson, H. Coleman (becoming a good player), D. Bowe, C. Davis, etc. will all be remembered, and all were his recruits. Name one Miles recruit, thus far, who could hold the jock strap of any of these guys. I think the closest would have to be Scott or Peterson. It seems that Miles, so far, has had a bit of a problem assessing/selecting talent, if not developing it. We've heard for 3-4 years that LSU is just as talented as any other team in the nation, but that simply is not true. I think a lot of us saw good recruiting classes during the Saban years with decent star ratings turning out to be extremely productive early on. Now, we are seeing top-5 recruiting classes under Miles producing very little, even after quite some time with the program. Saban's recruits are gone, and now there are no star players other than Scott or Peterson. And I agree with lsu-i-like's comments about LSU not being a scary team anymore. I think when teams play us, there is no intimidation like there is with Bama and Florida. The Tigers have gone from roaring to meowing.
If we are seeing top five recruiting classes, it would seem that Miles isn't the ONLY one who might be having a bit of a problem assessing / selecting talent. Also, recruits may have just been better IN GENERAL a few years ago - what I mean is that the newer crop just isn't of the same quality. Perhaps you can't compare them. 2008's Five star may have rated only a Three star rating compared with, say, the 2002 class. I dunno.:geaux:
If that were so, Bama and Florida would be where we are, but there is no doubt that they both are on the upswing.
This is likely the stupidest post I've ever seen on Tigerforums. What a lunatic crybaby. :insane: That is all.
