I think Miles is at that tricky time in head coaches career. It can go either way, but it is 100% up to him how he is remembered and thought of here by Tiger fans. If Miles pulls a 10-2 season, hes not gonna be going anywhere. These are all his players and if he can mold them into the team we know they can be, he will have a home for a long time.
Live with it? Yea, I don't like the alternative. On a serious note I damn sure wouldn't like it. Back to back 7-5 seasons would put Les' butt firmly on the hot seat.
I would have to agree, 10-2 keeps him in Baton Rouge. I also think 7-5 gets Crowton's job, and puts Miles on the Hot Seat for 2010.
Even at 7-5, Miles' job is pretty safe. But if we go 7-5 this season GC will be out on his butt for sure. I doubt Miles feels any heat unless we see another 2-3 seasons like last year.
You are right - my analogy was flawed. Trends are important - and don't get me wrong, I'm not all that happy with the way things have been so far. I watch lots of football - every game I possibly can - and I'm wondering like everyone else why, with all our talent, we aren't better on O. :geaux:
Red can confirm, but I think there is a clause in Les' contract that pays him a hefty amount if he is fired. I think the contract he signed after the 2007 :crystal: runs thru 2012.
i agree with you. i think CLM let the crystal ball go to his head. i didn't much care for saban when he was here (as a person,) but the guy can coach. and his teams are disciplined. CLM is a lot more personable and is better with the fans, but i don't think miles needs to go. gary crowton, on the other hand, needs to move far, far away. and i'm sure many would be willing to help me help him pack. i'm sorry, but the dude is NOT producing results. with the athletes LSU has, we should be averaging 30+ points a game. oh wait, don't we have a QB who....
