I hope it's true, but he could just be telling them that so they can just celebrate tonight and not worry about it. He doesn't seem like the type but there's always that possibility

I doubt he told them he wasn't taking the Michigan job. Sometimes you hear what you have a want to hear.
I was thinking the same thing, it's all in how you say things. I can see Miles telling the team, look guts I'm the coach of the Tigers now, I haven't been contacted by anybody, and my plans are to be your coach in the future. If I even hear from then you guys will be the first to know. Translates into coach speak.
He told them he wasn't contacted and hasn't spoken to Michigan. He didn't say he would not talk to them just that he hasn't. Big diffrence. Unless he says I don't want the job so don't call me I ain't going to Michigan it's still not done
CLM is obviously talking with UM or wanting to talk with UM or he would just come out publicly and say he was going to be the coach at LSU next year. I'm sure he hears the rumors and has had plenty of time to make a statement. dunno
