This is why Les can get our team up for big games but has smaller games that we seem to be sleeping through. He coaches with emotion and you can't get up emotionally for 12 games a year. Nick gets his team up for every game but they don't necessarily have that next level when they get to a big game. Normally, they're just good enough to win regardless.
I'm not here to pat him on the ass and tell him it will be ok. I call a spade a spade. The man can't speak. He can win. But he sounds like a damn fool.
Thats what was so good about that press conference. He was very direct and clear as a bell as well as passionate. It may be the first time ever that everyone on the planet knew exactly what he was saying. I wish he spoke like that more often.
I was at the game and must say I was dissappointed with the crowd. Our seniors should have got more love from the crowd. We were screaming our heads off but many were not very enthused when our seniors were announced. Shame on you Tiger Fans!!!! We have become a spoiled bunch of assholes and we are too stupid to realise it is our present coach and players that have got us where we are. How would you like to be the many other schools that can not maintain greatness. Les never losses hope.....he still thinks we got a shot at the NC game. You should love a guy like that and our players are an extension of his personality and we shit all over them because they don't blow people out every game. You guys better hope the 80's don't return.
I think he tries too hard to use coach speak and say the "right thing". When he improvises, like saturday night, he's pretty good.
He never gives anything away at press conferences. This speech and the "Have a great day!" speech left no doubt as to what he meant. I've heard that is also the way he always speaks to his team.
Most people that accues Miles of sounding like a "damn fool" sound like damn fools themsevles. The difference is that they have no redeeming qualities, like winning assloads of football games.
