I applaud him for speaking so strongly in the face of the negativity that surrounds this football team. Every damn game it's the same thing, win or lose. If they win, they count the problems. If they lose they count the problems. Never casting light on the good side of it. Was it a blowout? Hell no, but they won? Where in the hell does it say that a football game can only be won if it's by 3 TD's? No where. Was Shep what we expected? Probably not. But did he give it his best? Absolutely. Those players go out there and play the game, hard. You have to hand it to the players... given the fact that most of them are new, the offense have shown tons of improvement, especially when they nearly (actually DID) beat Bama. I can't wait to see what next season brings us. The more these guys play, the better they get. But the D needs work. I like Les, I hope he sticks around a while.
It's when he switches gears and somehow the next gear has no oil/grease on it, OR, the gear is on a TOTALLY different kind of machine.
I was beginning to miss this side of Les Miles. It almost seemed like he chilled out over the past few years but I love it. How could the players not want to play for a coach like this? This just adds to the Les Miles legend.
Erin Andrews already posted that first clip in her tweet saying "Not sure anything else could make me laugh this much". Think she has a crush on him.
Gotta admit I love Les Miles sometimes. This press conference being one of those times. Could see the true emotion.
Who wouldn't want to play for this man? And if this was because someone attacked Russell Shepard, then good for Les. Shepard could have given up, transferred, etc, but he hung in and fought, and earned the respect and admiration of every LSU fan with any sense. Good for Les, love him sometimes and damn proud of this quality group of men.
Shane911. HeLlsFury, Eliminator and other haters....This is why we love Les and hope he stays as long as possible. He obviously loves and respects his players as too fewother coaches do. His wins and everything else are topping on the cake. It is nice to have a real man and true leader running our program.
I like how he said "really freakin easy" the first time, then went with "really fruckin easy" the second time. That was awesome. Great to see him unload like that. He clearly takes comments about his players very personally.
My understanding is that he was asked if Shep's career at LSU was a flop. Every Miles hater should be required to watch this video daily. It illustrates the very qualities that make Les Miles a great coach and why kids love to play for him. The loyalty, commitment and fatherly approach to his team are second to none.
I don't. Good reporters find flaws in your program. Bad reporters get your coach riled up and in turn, he delivers moments like these. Give me the dumb guys!
