Freeman is at least a counter argument to numb nuts Dodd.

I thought it was a pretty good article for Miles.

Media blows personalities up so big it is ridiculous. Les is known as crazy for 2 instances, the Auburn pass play to win instead of FG and his firey press conference before the SECCG.

The Fake FG against USC and a couple of fake punts occassionally may have had influence but the media take one or two little incidents and create a caricature personality with it and spread it around the country.

    It's ridiculous.

um, "let er rip".... "one of these teams is the best in the country and one of these teams is not as good as they think they are" before a 52-9 pasting, "we learned stuff today", "i'll play any sucker"

I don't consider it crazy at all but the media takes those 2 things and maybe a few lesser situations and makes Les out to be some maniac.

If Miles keeps LSU competing for SEC and National Titles, he'll get respect. But I've given up arguing the point. Time will show exactly how good he is. Until then, no argument will convince the anti-Miles crowd.

No doubt about it. After Miles went 11-2 his first year, I was absolutely certain that everyone would be in love with him. Yet, there were still people in Tiger Nation who hated Miles. Then after Miles went 11-2 his second year, I was absolutely certain that everyone would be in love with him. Yet, there were still people in Tiger Nation who hated Miles. Now, after finishing 11-2 in his third year, winning the SEC Championship, and playing for the NC, there are still people in Tiger Nation that hate Miles.

Miles could go undefeated for the rest of his career at LSU, win the NC every single year, and there will still always be people in Tiger Nation that hate Miles.

My theory is this: the people who hate Miles are those people who disagreed with Skip Bertman that Miles was one of the best coaches in the country when we hired him. Miles-haters will never, ever, ever admit that they were wrong, and that Skip was right. To the day they die, the will always hate Miles no matter how good he does at LSU, because they are too stubborn to admit they are wrong.

It's a TV media world and Miles is a handshake kind of guy. He's "the man" in person but unpolished on the boob tube. So combine that with some gutsy play calling and the media labels him as a moron. Abraham Lincoln would be a moron as well by these standards...

He'll get his due - can't ignore three consecutive 11-2 seasons.

To me, Les Miles is a genius. He's the best coach in college football.

Both were great articles (Rabalais, Freeman).

He is a truly great man.
