With Shepard in the fold and all that could come from it (recruiting others), LSU could and should easily surpass these numbers.

2009 will most likely be a GREAT recruiting class for LSU!

We got a TON of TV time this year (and looked good doing it), won the all-important BCSNC, and we have a very likable, and respectable coach!

Sign them all up!!! Let's win some more crystals!!!

The Greatest Recruiting Class in the history of LSU Football IMO, will be the class with Spears, Clayton, and Hill. They were the class that changed LSU. These great classes were in part due to the success of that class. I'm not saying they were physically just as good as the other classes, but they were the critical class that changed the culture of LSU football.

No doubt, although there may have been a few back in the late 50's that could possibly rival that one, we'll likely never know unless someone is inclined to do the leg work. Saban put his stamp on the program with that class and lifted us back into a dominant position in LA, closing the borders once again.

However, talent wise this class may prove to be better. We'll know if 4 years.
