I know star ratings are overrated and all that but I'm feeling a class that could be out of the box next year (Recruiting service-wise) and wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with 4, maybe even 5 five star players. Ford is one and I expect him to be a 5* with Rivals too after he gets evaluated. Russell Shepard & Rueben Randle would be three...who else? C'mon, tell me there's a chance. Could this be our highest rated class ever even with limited scholarship offers?
I have a hard time thinking we beat the 07' class with limited sholly's. 2 - 5*s 19 - 4*s 5 - 3*s 0 - 1/2*s 3.88 avg *s doesnt matter either way....I think this class will by far have the most quality players of any class.
I don't think Miles likes the fact that Saban outshined him in recruiting this past class, add to that the fact that Louisiana will have a banner year for talent and I think Miles will finish in the top 3.
The '07 class may have been LSU's best ever (history will have to decide), but that class was really about great quality across the board. There wasn't a single weak link in the class. '08's class was about quality depth, and had a lot of raw guys in it. '09's class is shaping up to be a banner year of future super stars, and the limited scholarships actually appears to be helping us because we're being so incredibly picky that there probably won't be any guys in this class that the staff doesn't absolutely love. I could see LSU ending up with a max of four 5 stars, which would be a record, but also probably set a record for the number of top 100 players in one of our classes even with limited scholarships.
#2 - McFarland #4 - Shepard #8 - Randle #18 - Davenport Other possibles that are interested in LSU #6 - Kirkpatrick #9 - Kennard #13 - Marlon Brown #24 - Savage #27 - Chaisson #28 - Nico Johnson #35 - Telfort #41 - Appleton #42 - Conner #52 - Forcier Rivals usually lists about the top 30 as 5 star players LSU could end up with as many as six 5 star players as maybe 8 in the top 50
I agree. It is shaping up to be a great class. But the number of scholarships may prevent us from having a #1 class.
I would tend to agree with you, but here is USC's #1 rated class of '05: Only 20 recruits: 4 - 5 star 11 - 4 star 5 - 3 star LSU may end up with every single player being a 4 star, at a minimum. They could easily end up #1 with only 20 or so recruits.
and bring Chris Davenport, Eddie Lacy, Carneal Ainsworth, and Montrell Conner with you! :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
