Just because Miles says he's staying, doesn't mean he won't change his mind. *cross fingers*

none of this will matter if the ship isnt much improved next year. The buy out wont matter. Miles better be prepared to go down with GC if things dont go well.

Its not a money thing ( well it is but not coach money ), revenue generated by a team that PEOPLE want to watch is far greater than the buy outs. See the trick in college football is generate a fan base that ARE bandwagoners, get people from some far away state to buy LSU gear to wear just because they are the "IN" thing. Loyal fans buy stuff anyway....... I was walking in the VA hospital here in INDY last week and a guy had an LSU hat on, I stopped and said HI. He didnt even realize I had a LSu hoodie on at first. I asked him if he was from "down home"? He replied oh hell no I just love to WATCH LSU PLAY BALL..... folks thats $$$$ for LSU. thousands of shirts and hats, tickets, TV ads > than One high priced buy out....when OTHER people WANT to watch LSU.

One more season is about all Miles n GC have....... especially since he is keeping GC. If the team looks good and goes 9 plus, things will be fine. if we look lost again and go 9 or less. well I would circulate some resumes if I were those two.

its not about the PAST or a trophy or how sorry we were in the 90's people... its about MONEY.... big time college football is about "what have you done for me lately?"

Les has an enormous opportunity to demonstrate his worth as a HC next season. It should be a 3-way race between LSU, Arkansas and Bama for the West next year (scratch Arky off the list if Mallett declares for this year's draft). The East is in turmoil from the recent coaching musical chairs, so LSU has a great opportunity to take advantage of their East slate. LSU likely won't have a better chance to make a run for the SECCG than 2010, so let's hope the coaching staff makes the most of it.

although I have my doubts about Miles and more so with GC, I sincerely hope he/they/we waxe all their #$$%# in 2010. Ill gladly jump back on the Crowton wagon if we dominate ( or even look like we know what a football is ) lol

Amazing, I just had this very same discussion with a friend of mine yesterday. While I hope we come out like gang busters, and even if we do, I still want the crow to fly.

Maybe the problem is'nt GC but perhaps the head coach is a little too involved in the offense and not letting GC do exactly what he want's to do.

That's been debated before on other threads and really been proven wrong via coaching history/trends of both. It's pretty clear that the three year deterioration we are seeing post-jimbo era has CGCs fingerprints all over it.

Most Tiger fans will rave about GC during good years and lots of TD's!!!

Most Tiger fans will hate on CLM when things go bad!!!

just the way the world turns
