Re: Since Les Miles has officially let Crowton stay I am not what you would call a Miles fan but even I don't think he has "hitched his wagon". I think the wagon was hitched for him. The end result may be the same and I'd be just fine with that but the fact that cue ball is still around is not CLMs fault.
With the Chavis deal last week, I wonder if CLM was asked, "What do you want more? Chavis to stay or Crowton to go?" We all have budgets these days. :geaux:
The only thing that helps me sleep at night is watching old 2007 games. Crowton still ran that stupid option but he had some trick plays at least. Ok, that doesn't help me sleep at night, it just confuses me more. What hurts even more is the fact we never do misdirection plays. Correct me if i'm wrong, but I don't think we ran a counter all year. not even sure if we did in 2007. I know Jimbo ran them (along with every other offensive coordinator ever except Gary). I read somewhere that JJ called an audible on that TD pass to LaFell. If that is true, it is promising that JJ can maybe read a defense. If I were him, i'd pull a Willie Beamon and just do that every play. He doesn't seem to have a great football IQ, but anything is better than a crowton call.
dude, that is some funny chit right there. i don't care who you are. i am pissin over here. :hihi::hihi::hihi::hihi: i mean, part of me is depressed about the news here, but then this, and i am gigglin' like a little kid.
In all likelihood I think we can forget about further changes or hires in the coaching staff. After reading LSU's proposed budget cuts, this university is going to be hurting A LOT in the foreseeable future.
This is why Miles is a lame ass coach. Do you think Crowton would survive a season like this under Saban? Last in the SEC in offense?? Miles is a dumbass. Another wasted 2010 year under this idiot and his blind loyalty. Good! Hopefully by keeping Crowton in 2010 this will get his ass fired because I can assure you........Miles will NEVER beat Saban or Urban while head coach at LSU again.
And this is based on what information? Gut feeling? It seems that the contracts our AD writes for these guys is very much like CEO's get. It's not based in any way on performance. So once it's signed all the have to do is keep breathing and they make millions. If they don't perform and are kicked out they still make millions in a so called buyout. So what is their incentive including Miles?
I truly like Miles but unless there is something triple secret we aren't privy to, this is nothing but shades of Dinardo/Tepper.
I'm on board with most of this. He will never out coach either of those to ego-maniacs but the football team has a shot to win against them but it would be with pure talent. I would say this upcoming year is a very critical one. It needs to turn around quickly or the program will be headed into a very dark place until the whole lot of them are gone starting with the AD. We lose to NC to open the season and we may need one of those space shuttle robot arms to bring us back.
