Oh well. Nothing to do but hope for the best now. As such, I hope that Crowton: A. Decides to focus on other formations besides Shotgun B. Actually coach the QB's C. Digs and finds simple yet effective trick plays D. Gets on Stud's @$$ for the OL E. Decides to allow for the QB to run out of the pocket on occasion F. Rotates to allow for change ups G. Maintain some level of urgency in the entire offense With those changes, plus some running thrown in, we should be OK.:geaux:
"We all have to make some adjustments, and we all have to do some soul searching, look at the things we're doing. I think the process is a very positive one and that's very much on the horizon and Gary will be a part of it." From the article. No where in any of this has Miles stated that GC will be making any decisions about the offense, just that he will be a part of it. So, if Miles hands have been tied and he can't get rid of GC, I think that we will see GC's role deminished next season. He may still be the OC, but I don't think he will be making play calling decisions on his own. Gonzales is going to be an big part of the offense next season, and not just the WR coach.
i get the feeling you may be right on that legacy, but its a waste of oc space to have gc there. having to run an offense by going around your oc isnt the best way to do things, tho that may be what miles has been forced into if true.
I can live with this. As long as he isn't involved in calling or drawing up plays for that matter I'm ok with him on staff. They can put him in the press box and give him a color book or something, maybe a rubics cube when he learns to stay within the lines. "Look coach, I colored a pretty tiger for you". I think I will box up a few of Haydens books and a 64 nope thats too many might hurt himself, a 24 pack of crayons and send it to the athletic dept tomorrow morning.
Yeah I noticed that too. If he marginalizes Crowton to a OCINO (in name only), I wonder if this gives him bargaining room to replace Stud.
Since Les Miles has officially let Crowton stay They will both be out on the street at the end of next year. What a joke! Miles has decided to hitch his wagon to an offensive coordinator who cannot run a two minute drill to save his life. LOL. Good luck to our Tigers. We just bought mediocrity for another year.
