Miles buyout clause specifies Michigan

I guess they thought he might leave if Michigan came calling...here is the quote from USA Today...

Miles played and coached under Bo Schembechler at Michigan and has a clause in his contract that would require him to pay LSU $1.25 million if he leaves for Ann Arbor before his contract expires in 2011. If he goes to any other school, there is no buyout penalty. Such is the pull of the maize and blue.

 

and we are gonna pay it for him 1.25mil is nothing to the athletic department and boosters. there dropping 226mil into the football stadium renovations like its nothing.

 

Yet another prime example of a media member not doing their research. His contract is a matter of public record and doesn't reflect what they've written.

To those of you who are sick of hearing about this...don't watch any sports shows on TV...and whatever you do...don't listen to satellite radio, or any radio sports talk show whatsoever.

I agree that one thread is all we need...but if the rest of the country is gonna talk about it...why shouldn't we? He's OUR coach! I haven't seen anyone upset with him, or hoping he'd leave. People are just tossing the idea around...because it's out there...like a big elephant in the room.

 

I don't think UM WILL pay it. I don't think they WANT him. Only you fans do...and I'm willing to bet you don't get a vote.

I used to think the buyout was the opposite. That if UM offered him a job he didn't have a buyout for only the UM job. But for other schools it was 1.25mil. Thank goodness I had it backwards. Or he would've accepted the position by now. Of course, UM will gladly pay such a low buyout.

Any chance that Carr stays if he wins tomorrow, or at least hold off the announcement till the Rose Bowl?

 

I thought it was amended after his first year to say $500,000.00 to any school. Bhelm and/or red know, they'd posted about it but I'm not positive about my specific recollection.

 

How?? It hasn't been vacated/offered.
