he was rated 5 star as a duel threat, which mainly means for his running ability. He can throw the ball, at least he did well in high school, but mechanically, he is not there. Not that JJ is either though.

And just because someone has a 4 or 5 star rating, doesn't mean that they are going to succeed. Ask Al Woods.

Good point, so we have Lee, throws INTS, and JJ who most say isnt their yet either and Shepard who can run very well and MOST LIKLY pass the ball some..

    What are we missing?

hell if JJ can look to the sidlines for the play, why cant shepard?

Like I said, i think we should work all 3 IN GAME to get a better feel of who should start..

Lee had 2300+ passing his senior season.

JJ had 2800+ passing his senior year.....

In high school he was a star athlete for sure. Most of the guys on the team can say the same thing, though. But this is another level entirely. We once had a Parade All American who rode the bench for four seasons and never even lettered.

Perhaps. I'd just like to know if he's a PASSER before I anoint him quarterback in the SEC.

Really, when they recruited him, they must of seen the second comming of teebow. I mean WE KNOW the kid can run. Its time they gave the kid some plays to actually run things and see what happens. At least let Shepard run the option..

Tim Tebow only had a few throws going into this point of his freshman season. They didn't work in Shep in the UF game, Miles admitted that was a mistake. I am confident that they will get this figured out. The offense is stagnant right now, but its not because Shep isn't playing. Maybe Shep would have given this team some life in that Florida game but i don't think he would have changed the outcome of the game, or changed our whole offensive philosophy. The whole offense has to get better, from the line, to the skill positions, to Crowton.

Cripp said it best when he said that a good Offensive Coordinator forms his offense around his players and their skills, he doesn't try and force a guy to be something he isn't and run an offense that they just cant run.

JJ doesn't throw many INTs because the kid is too fricking scared to throw the damn ball OR doesn't know who to throw the ball to (can't read D). Just holds on the ball and gets sacked :rolleye33:

If I remember right, we were one of the only schools recruiting Shep that would even give him a shot at QB. Most wanted him as a reciever/running back.
