In this situation I don't see "starting" as being very important with such different skill sets involved. I suspect JJ and Mett will both see significant PT in a dual QB system again this year. Whoever gets the lion's share by midseason will be the one who gives us the best chance of winning at the end.
11-2: Known fact Mettenberger: Unknown. If Mett shows the team will be better with him, he'll be in there. We (Miles) don't know that yet. Look at your hole cards before plunking down your bet.
Ahem, . . . 8-5, 9-4, and 11-2. No. Unproven at this level. He was a star in High School, competed for the start as a true freshman at Georgia, and threw 32 TD passes to take his team to the JC national championships last year. And he was the best quarterback in the spring game. Not exactly unknown.
What your not saying, Miles will not play the best player. He will just play the guy he likes because he can put the better player on the bench even if it would mean the team would be better. Les is about winning football games and if JJ is the best guy we got and Miles thinks he will give us the best chance to win - you have your starting QB. But in BR there are 10,000 people at least know what should be done and who should be the starting QB. You see Les is just a lucky guy that took over a great program from Nick Saban. He is very lucky and knows little about real football.
