Not to mention that they fail to realize that he lives better than a lot of people do his tiger palace; relatively speaking. But don't let facts get in the way of a good protest. I couldn't agree more. I know it would cost more for 2 tigers (or more when the female spits out a litter of kittens), but you think homeboy ever misses, um, 'companionship'? I guess there's no guarantees that they would be compatible and it would be too expensive to risk it.
Tigers are solitary animals. The male would prolly kill the female if she wasn't in heat. Or maybe I'm wrong.
I think you're right,.. but I could'nt find anything totally conclusive. Male tigers are especially solitary and never stay with a female with cubs, which they will kill,.., a mated pair will sometimes socialize together, but only a little and rarely. Even when the female is in heat, breeding is a dangerous dance,.. tigers are very picky when it comes to a mate.
