Thanks GoBlue88 for your well wishes. I too didn't know wolverines were that rare. Having one at the UM would b cool. A very sad day indeed. Not only is it a loss of a mascot, which is part of a tradition, but it is a loss of Tiger that was so interactive, had so much personality, was very playful, and really connected with the fans, unlike anything I've seen from a big animal before. I fear that other Tigers to represent LSU will not have that connection that he did. He was really a special cat and you can tell Dr Baker believes that as well. I would like to commend Dr Baker and staff for the incredible way they handled Mike during his tenure. They kept him happy and paid close attention to not doing anything that would affect his trust and his personality. Mike was truly like a big kitty. We will sorely miss you and pray we get another Tiger with a fraction of your personality and heart. We miss you "Roscoe".
Baker also deserves credit for living up to his word. He guaranteed Roscoe would not be forced to attend a game if he didn't want to.
I was fortunate when I brought my oldest to his first LSU game to time things just right to watch them usher mike into his carrier for the game. We were able to stand maybe a foot away from this majestic animal, take pictures, and admire. This was my little boy's introduction to LSU officially and it couldn't have been cooler. At the time I thought well this is pretty cool, now I am almost a little upset that during the moment didn't strike me as how significant it was.
Great video, makes me want to tear up watching this. Mike VI was the best, I saw him on several trips to Baton Rouge and he was never disappointing.
"Authorities in Nevada were investigating a possible case of animal cruelty Wednesday after reports of exotic animals living in unacceptable conditions. Nye County sheriff’s deputies and Nevada Division of Wildlife officers converged on a home in Pahrump and found several lions, tigers and an illegal species of fox at the house, according to Fox 5 Vegas. Officials found animals locked in bedrooms with urine and feces on the walls and floors. Deputies also found a Canadian Siberian lynx, which doesn’t need a permit in Nye County, and a Fennec fox, which is a violation of state code to have. Authorities said in total they found 15 animals in total: 8 Canadian Siberian lynx hybrid cats, 2 African lionesses, an African lion, a Bengal tiger, a black panther, a Fennec fox and a cervel caracal hybrid cat."
Sounded like she wanted to sell one of her tiger kittens for $3000 but didn't deliver and that's what put the long arm of the law on her trail. Her bail is only $2000, and for that, you could possibly secure 4 tiger prospects and a trainer that looks a lot like that dude on the wizard of oz that needed just a little backbone.
