There is an entire thread on the Texas Tech fiasco here: http://www.tigerforums.com/college-sports-forum/93969-mike-leach-suspended-now-fired-ttu.html
They ousted a coach over money... you don't think they won't bench a kid for causing them millions in a lawsuit?
I think Leach's coaching career is over... at least for a year or more while all the controversy about him blows over.
if there is any truth to the allegations which I doubt, why would we want him at LSU? and if he does come to LSU can we get him to lock GC in a foot locker before we ship it out of BR? and herb on the litigation thing, they know the guy is a good coach I am sure they realize he has the potential to get another coaching job. He would not be required to wait, this isnt a disability claim agaisnt the US gov. he may want to wait howerver, depending on what his lawyer says.
Look John made a post that didnt tell someone to go find another team to support! miracles do happen! :thumb: You go John this Buds for you!
All I'm saying is for the AD to at least give him a look and monitor the situation. Why would we want him if they're true? The same reason Kentucky hired Calipari with his shady history. To win. You think Indiana gave a damn every time Bobby Knight threw a public temper tantrum? You think their AD really didn't know he laid his hands on players before it was caught on video? They looked the other way until the public scrutiny became a liability to their program and fired him only after that happened. I am NOT saying this is someone we SHOULD have in our program if there's truth to the allegations; that's another question entirely. But if the history of sports has shown anything, it's that there's always a market for talented coaches and players regardless of their actions. Just ask the Eagles.
I wouldn't dispute that money doesn't have anything to do with it. From the university standpoint, Leach could be a serious liability if the alleged abuse turned out to be true, with all the media hype. With the coach not budging, it still seemed a bit drastic or swift just to fire their winning-most coach in their program's history, unless they felt that they had no leg to stand on and rather not risk the program (program > coach). Wonder if the truth would ever surface. I didn't see the angle of the lawsuit that Leach threatened to file; if so, I feel bad for the players that would be put in the bad spot of having to defend their coach, and be at odds with the universities' financial interests. But if the alleged player were to file a lawsuit against the university, the players that support Leach would help the university in depending against that lawsuit.
