Yes comparing wins with Saban is just stupid, you can count on one hand how many coaches have beat him in the last 5 years. He is not the guy you use as a measuring stick of your program. Sure you keep shooting for that kind of excellence but you are not going to dominate him, which is what LSU fans wanted, because we were the jilted girlfriend. I'm with you, as long as we are competitive and win a few of those games and titles then we're good. Miles had slipped below that which is why some of us saw a need for change. We could have done better with that change because now we are not going to even win the ones we're supposed to i.e. Troy!
There's no satisfying the LSU (moneyed) fan base....the TAF. That's why up and coming coaches are leery of coming to LSU. That's why Aleva couldn't find a coach to say yes and we ended up with Orgeron. We need to fire Aleva. Hire an up and coming ATHLETIC DIRECTOR while we give Orgeron a chance and let His buyout get smaller. A year long coaching search is necessary before Orgeron gets fired because LSU needs to be sold. The new AD can not assume, like Aleva did, that coaching prospects capable of competing with Saban and Bama are drooling to come here at the drop of a hat. All the pieces need to be secretly in place before Orgeron is fired.
