I posted Tee Martins passing numbers, 1k over Jennings. Not sure what stats you are looking at. If 1k is meaningless, you tell me that extra 1k passing yards this season wouldn't lead to more wins.?????

    • QB Tee Martin: 164/285 (57.5%) for 2,442 yards (8.57) with 21 TD vs. 8 INT (2.81%). 113 carries for 306 yards (2.71) and 7 TD.

Nebraska had over 4.5K rushing running the option AND STILL HAD AS MANY passing yards as Jennings. Do you not see anything wrong with that??

You're taking Jennings and just using his numbers. That's taking @500 yards off the table.

I misunderstood your earlier post. Easy to do with the way it was worded...

Well, Jennings got pulled and stat a game because he couldn't hit a barn for a few weeks. Based off his average, give him another 150.... Still talking about 1600ish.

Back to the UT 1998 team, their passing ranked 6th in the SEC. So yea, it was a different time even then. We are last lol.

I may be picking nits here...

I don't think it's an accurate analysis to just use Jennings' numbers. Harris put up what, 450-470 this season?

When you look at the combo of Tebow and Leak do you subtract Tebow's numbers from their passing game?

I understand the frustration with the passing game this season—it's magnified, in my opinion, coming off a season with Mett under center.

Does all the blame for the 2014 season fall on the quarterback? You can't fault that position for the Miss STate loss, IMO. AS I recall over 75% of the LSU offense came through the air in that game. One INT, right? On the last second "Hail Mary?"

As I've posted a few times in this thread I don't think you can fault Chavis, or the defensive scheme, for the Bama game. Quite frankly, that game went down just like every other game over the last several years. Players making plays when they needed to do so—and we've seen it from both teams.

Like LSU, Bama ran into the buzz-saw that is Nick Marshall. Fortunately, and it shocks me to say this, we had Blake. What happened to LSU that day? I'm still scratching my head over that one. Geez. NOTHING went your way that Saturday night.

Arkansas was...well, just a perfect storm. Coming off the loss the preceding week didn't help. We expect kids to just put things behind them. But, if we're honest with ourselves we realize that game happen when the emotion and desire needed just isn't there. From my viewpoint, there's no better comparison than last years Sugar Bowl against OU.

In the end, from my viewpoint, it's not as bad as it appears to you guys.

Where did you pull that from? I've got that linked on my other laptop—at work—and I don't want to link into the system.

The main issue is we have the wrong "type" of QB for our system. At least, that is my opinion. Our play calling does him no favors.

This is exactly what is wrong. If we are going to run conservative O with a strong running game and drop back passer, then we need a drop back passer. If we are going to run a mobile qb then we need to be in the spread or some variation of it to give our players the advantage. Athletes do you no good if you put them in a box.

Were talking about it, ain't we. We are just not agreeing. It would be a boring argument if we did.
