That would be the 3-9 Washington State Cougars. http://espn.go.com/college-football/statistics/team/_/stat/passing/sort/passingYards
Off the top of my head, with fading memory as my caveat... Alabama—1992. Nebraska—1994, '95, '97. (If I recall correctly, Michigan—shared title in '97—didn't have a receiver over 500 yards on the season.) Tennessee—1998. Tee Martin didn't light up the world passing. LSU is on pace to have as many passing yards as the Vols that season. The 1991 Washington team didn't light it up through the air either...they're pretty close to the passing numbers with LSU this season as well.
Is there a trophy for 80%? There would have been plenty of trophies for LSU if we were #1, or even a realistic #50. With our D (most years), the cutoff is probably between 50 and 75? I know, LSU fans expect sooooooo much.
You will have to post rankings then. Team were not putting up close to any of the numbers have they have been over the last 10 years. The game has changed. If this was 1990, none of us would probably complain about our passing game.
