Has beaten everybody but LSU once in his first 2 years. Not that it justifies his salary or a raise for Miles. The Joneses argument is moronic, especially as an excuse for lacking wins.
Right, my point is for all his 10 win seasons, for his .80 he has 2 SEC titles. You can't tell me that you don't expect more.
I'd rank them like this. 1. Saban 2. Spurrier 3. Miles 4. Richt 5. Malzahn 6. Pinkel 7. Freese 8. Jones 9. Beilima 10. Mullen 11. Sumlin 12. Stoops 13. Mason 14. McElwain McElwain is unproven through no fault of his own, and will more than likely shoot up this list soon.
The old ball coach for all his accolades falls short in the overall what have you done for me lately department. For that he doesn't get that high on my list. I'd go Saban Malzahn Miles - I want to rank him lower but can't justify it The OBC Gary "2 in the Pinkle 1 in the stinkle " Everyone else
Not deserving of a raise, we can not reward mediocrity. I can live with 8-4 but can not increase pay for that. We were fifth in a 7 team divison and finished 5-4 in games against real competition.
If they had beaten Bama they probably would have played Arkansas like they actually wanted to be in Fayetteville and that would be a respectable 10-2. Still, if I were giving out raises this year no raise for Les or Cam, a decent raise for Chavis and a good raise for Frank Wilson for the job he has done recruiting and with the RBs.
After the job Mason did this year I'd have to rank McElwain ahead of him despite not having coached a game in the SEC yet. I can't put Richt as high as you do because he aways falls short in the big one.
[QUOTE="Bengal B, post: 1437075, a decent raise for Chavis and a good raise for Frank Wilson for the job he has done recruiting and with the RBs.[/QUOTE] Chief gets a bump up this year. Frank makes very well for RB and RC, to take most smaller schools HC job, he'd take a cut in pay
