As far as Mile turning down Michigan, I would think he has too much love and respect for his alma mater to put them through that. I would think, knowing the class Les has demonstrated with us, that he would meet with them and tell them up front not to make a public offer because he would turn it down. This would all be done out of the public eye where the school can save face and not go thru the embarrassment of a third decline. Rumor is he is happy where he is and not going, and I am sure this has been settled with them as well, which is why we haven't heard too much about it.
And what guarantees Harbaugh will turn Michigan around? Not to mention now other coaches that have actually won championships will expect similar if not more compensation.
Why would Les leave LSU to go there anyhow. I mean be the coach of LSU or Michigan....which one would u choose?
Nope. Its a combination of a top coach, top money, top recruiting, rich boosters that get them on probation from time to time, and an athletic department with a single-minded emphasis on football. LSU leads the SEC with 42 NCAA National Championships in all sports . . . Alabama has 6.
Are you saying if Les was paid more LSU would win more? What about having the highest paid assistant coaching staff in the NCAA? Do you think that's why Saban wasn't more successful at LSU, let's be honest here, Saban was just another above average coach as far as results are concerned while at LSU, and was nothing compared to what he has been at Alabama. He was a top 10 coach, now he's in the mountain looking down. Interesting
