Why do some rate a player a 4* and another rate the same guy a 3*? Got offered by 8 SEC schools, and about 20 more. Expand his offer page. https://rivals.yahoo.com/footballre...rown-143284;_ylt=AvF8GGjH18gQdQG_LjMkGBFDPZB4
The lowest rated high school lineman in the 2012 class, well, he was this years starting ROT. As a Red-Shirt Soph playing this year, he might not return to LSU, has a shot to go in the next NFL Draft. In that same 2012 class of 23 players, I remember a sports writer being ask what players from that class, that would not see a Red-Shirt. He said a number had a shot at playing time. But one kid to him, he saw as for sure, 100% being a Red-Shirted player, Jalen Mills. Now everyone knows Jalen started that first game and all 13 that year. He too has a shot in this years NFL draft to come out early. Oh, Mills was the second best DB on his high school team, the best player by just about every service was the Echols kid that went to UTx. Don't know if he ever started a game there. You never know, but as for recruiting services, * are fine, but its better to trust the coaches on this one.
Mullen: Collins To Florida "A Lateral Move" 113 minutes ago Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen was apparently in a pretty feisty mood on Tuesday, and appeared none too pleased that defensive coordinator Geoff Collins is leaving the Bulldogs for SEC rival Florida. Mullen said that new Florida coach Jim McElwain called yesterday to ask to speak with Collins, and a deal was apparently hammered out pretty quickly after he garnered approval.
Adding a bit to what you've posted... The ranking systems are different. Scout only awards a set number of 5*'s per season. That means a guy who is a three-star recruit in a very deep year, talent wise, might have been a four-star recruit in another year. Or vice versa. Looking at the number of offers, and from whom, more often than not reflect what kind of potential these kids have.
