Here's The Advocate links on Miles with a video link of his comments. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/ After watching his comments I respect our Coach that much more. He's in a tough spot with a job he loves and an opening at another school that tugs at his loyalty to Michigan. He got emotional at the end. I can imagine the emotions he is feeling right now. If we get to keep Coach Miles I'm sure this experience will make him a stronger leader, coach and recruiter. I hope he stays. :milesmic: It's refreshing to see a coach in this spot not being pulled by money. This is all about the heart and loyalty. It's obvious he loves LSU and Michigan. :thumb:
Good post. Isn't that what college football is all about? I have a feeling Miles is really torn at this point. He really doesn't want to hurt his team. Maybe we should sent him the smilies with the cute LSU cap to cheer him up.:thumb:
for those who care to see it, heres the press conference http://www.myfoxdetroit.com/myfox/M....jsp?contentId=4976361&version=1&locale=EN-US
He's not one of us. He's a yankee, and they think differently. I like his confidence on 4th and one. I like the way he's turned our team loose. I like the fact he plays freshmen and sophomores. Gets them experience. But in the long run, he'll be gone.
Good read... I understand where he's coming from. I think Miles knows that if the job is offered to him, he's almost got to accept out of loyalty. At the same time, he's so comfortable and happy @ LSU that he doesn't want to leave. I think he's become attached to the school and fans and doesn't want to let us down. Especially in lieu of how our last coach departed (not that it's the same). It would suck to have to make a choice like that. I suspect in a way he's hoping Michigan will offer it to someone else so he doesn't have to make that decision. I personally won't hold it against him if he's leaving us. He's said from the get-go that he's a Michigan man and never denied it... In my book, he's shown us tremendous respect and for that I'm thankful. That said, If I had a face-to-face conversation with him I'd say this.. Michigan will be around for years to come, and they'll need a coach again another day. Even if the next guy stays as long as Carr did, thirteen years will pass before he knows it... Especially @ LSU. :tigereye:
Nice post. :thumb: I'm hoping this whole experience we are going through will bring all of us much closer together. Adversity has a way of doing that. It would be exciting if he makes the decision to stay or UM picks someone else before the SECCG. It could turn into a huge love fest for everything LSU. :miles::lsup::miles:
Re: Coach options... It's sad to watch a man outlive his usefulness and not realize it... He had a chance to go out with his self-respect...that's all but gone now...:nope:
man i feel like i lost a friend today this is an aweful feeling. its gonna be so weird going to the Big House Next year without carr there.
Ehh? I'm guessing this was before the finger incident. http://www.2theadvocate.com/news/11595086.html
Nice articles in The Advocate today. At least we have a coach with only one possible job he may take. with our last coach we had to go through this every year. Bertman confident Miles will stay put http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/11635136.html Les Miles ‘comfortable’ http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/11634011.html
