Yeah, it seems to be more accepted here now but it sure hasn't een so clear when I've mentioned it for the last month. Oh, that's not a "Suggestion".
I don't think many have said he would not go IF OFFERRED. I for one have only said that I don't think he'd be offerred. I DO think he'd take it if offerred, and always have. The only thing that would make him turn it down is the fact that we have a shot at :crystal: ...and then he would automatically be in the $3.5mill-$4mill range at LSU. UM won't pay him anywhere NEAR that...AND the buyout.
At least I can sympathize. How many times in the last few years has PC had to address rumors of his departure for the NFL? And every single time all I wanted to hear was, "I'm not leaving". Problem is and he stated as such, nobody would believe it AND it does leave the door open for him/others in that situation to consider options. Fair enough. Besides, who wants to become Saban?
Don't know if this has been posted yet. http://www.detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071118/SPORTS0201/711180364 :geaux:
That was no slip. He was speaking about being a Michigan alumnus and how "we" (as Michigan alumnus) are happy with what Carr has done.
Dandy Don had these comments: Didn't Saban talk to Miami before the bowl game? Is this something Skip has to give permission for? Anyway, I hope he's right and Miles stays for a while. It would help with recruiting stability.
True, but if they really wanted Les, the changeover could have been made a lot easier. Certainly allow the guy to focus on the SECCG. Having Les arrive at UM after blowing title hopes gets him off on a bad start. I think Carr can appear like this is the high road, but he knows, too, (as would the people who hire) that this move hung Les out to dry. If you had an inside candidate, would you treat him this way? This is only my opinion, and I can't wait for the whole story.
I wouldn't read too much into the whole "we" thing anyway. Probably force of habbit. Seems to me that coaches always say "we" for everything. If they kept saying "I" then it wouldn't put off a very good example of being a team player now would it?
