also props to our local media so far for not being a-holes about the UM situation and sticking to the games.
Here is some confirmation about alleged rift b/w Miles and Carr: "Many parties close to the situation, though, say Miles has one major impediment to landing the Michigan job: Carr. The two have known each other since 1980, when they both worked on Schembechler's staff. In recent years they have clashed over recruits such as cornerback Jai Eugene, a blue-chipper from Louisiana who announced his commitment to Michigan during the nationally televised Army All-American Bowl. Three weeks later, he switched to LSU. Some believe Carr also has been rankled by Miles' public comments about his love for the Wolverines. A major question is how much input Carr will have in recommending his successor. If Miles, who has a special Michigan clause in his contract requiring a robust $1.25 million buyout, isn't offered the job, we'll know the answer." http://chicagosports.chicagotribune...19nov19,1,5992883.story?coll=cs-college-print I disagree with the assumption that if Miles isn't offered the job it will be b/c of Carr. There could be many reason Miles isn't offered but I believe he will be. The question is when will he be offered.
I agree with this. Stay or go I just want a decision made and move on. I think Skip should have Miles come in and present him with an updated contract. Give him a 20% bump (with more to come if he wins the NMC) and a 50 million dollar buyout if he goes to Michigan. Sign it or leave your whistle at the door Coach. That ends the whole deal and we can get ready for Arky and the SECCG. Or we can start our next coaching search.
Sometimes what's not said speaks volumes. Not saying anything addresses it pretty loud and clear, imo. If nothing else, that he's at least considering it. If he planned on staying, why wouldn't he snuff all the talk now and shift focus elsewhere? He knows all LSU fans are on the edge. He's known this was coming so I don't want to hear time to think it through.
