To me it's too much of a gamble to punt it. You know State is gonna send all 11. I would gone for it. Spread the field, and send 5 receivers deep and throw it as high in the air as possible. That should kill enough clock.

Michigan morons are posting death threats to the punter on twitter. I understand their frustration, but you have to be a shallow piece of shit or a lunatic to do that. Hell, if they don't want him, we'll take him. He won't make that mistake again and dude did have an 80 yard punt earlier in the game.

Oh and the kid from Mich. St that scored the game winning TD, broke his hip on the play. I hope it wasn't from his teammates dog piling him.

I wouldn't throw it. Chance of an interception and runback. I would have lined up in an I with two TE's like I was going for the first down. Sparty would have had it in their head that Michigan was trying to draw them offsides for the first down and if it didn't work would take the 5 yard penalty and punt. I would have the QB line them up and and take until the play clock had only about a second or two and then snapped the ball. Fake it to the tailback to the short side of the field and the QB rolls out toward the wide side. If he can run for the first down game over. If not try to scramble and eat up as much of the 10 seconds as possible before going down.

You throw it high enough and long enough no one is catching it or returning it.

Yeah you're right but if you can kill 3 or 4 seconds, it may give them a chance at a Hail Mary but I still don't punt there. Punters aren't used to that kind of pressure. How often is the outcome of a game in 1 play fall on the back of your punter in the last seconds? That is rare.
