It's got nothing to do with who he left for. If Bama offered him more than LSU could match at the time, I wouldn't have blamed him for taking the job back then.
It's the cowardly manner he left and he topped that in Miami.
F..ck Bama, this aint about them.

I think it comes down to more of the way he left the NFL than anything. It's just more bitter to some fans because he came back to an SEC school that we play every year in the western division.

I know, but take into consideration the timing, and what he was making at Miami. There are only 20-25 schools that would even come close to that salary. Most of which are in the SEC.

Guys, this whole Saban thing just sounds dirty. I LOVE LSU!!!!!!!!!!!! Yet, I'm sitting here wondering whether or not I could even be a fan anymore if the "unthinkable" would happen with Saban.

I think he's a b@$tard, and if he comes back to LSU, that's what we'd look like, too. Public perception is reality here, folks.

As a side note, the ONLY upside, for me, would be the absolute implosion in the Bama nation. Still, that's not enough upside for it to be worth it--selling our souls to the devil.

B'ham radio was talking about Tubbie holding off the barn and the pigs while angling for the soon to be vacant spot in BR. That has an icky feel to it......to me anyway.

I disagree. There would be an initial hoopla with the media, but I think he actually saves face. He takes a small paycut to come back and looks like he's following his heart to come back home(if thats how he feels)thus endearing him to the fans and media. As for the coona$$ comments, well He'd be one of us again so we let it slide.:yelwink2: He'd almost have to have a large buyout in his contract to gain some credibility, then do some interviews with soft backlight out on the bayou saying how happy he was to be back where he loved. Bam - he's back to deity status in no time....

    Just sayin'.....

Interesting. If Miles leaves, we could have almost any coach we want..... it seems.
